Description
PixWhale is a non profit association carrying a participatory science project. We collect photos of whales that each person has taken during trips, whale watching tours, to build a database free of rights. These photos represent valuable information: they correspond to the photo identification (individual identification) and are very useful when coupled to a date and location. They are then relayed to the research stations working in this field to acquire more knowledge about marine mammals.
PixWhale association has therefore set mandate to create a bank of pictures of whales from the tourism industry of whale watching for the research stations.
