L'image a été créée par le Centre de Recherche sur les Tsunami du NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) et montre très clairement les hauteurs maximales de la vague (en centimètres ou cm) du tsunami produit par le tremblement de terre du Japon en date du 11 mars 2011.
